Abusing me a Webmas and ab complimented me in reporting case me In rejecting me, and refusing consideration for over To any Years Police service, the authorities in strong Rong appears to have over-looked my just services to the Governments, and to the Colony here in which I served, during rather trying periods.

And I hope I may be pardoned if I mention some of my services briefly. During the Plague Epidemic in Hong Kong in the year 1894, I was specially detailed to take charge of a search party for House to House Visitation in the slums of the city, removing the sick and the dead. I was one of four Europeans who was able to continue that very trying duty throughout until the plague finally abated.

For those services I was specially mentioned in the report issued by the Plague Permanent Committee & received a 4th Class good Medal in addition to Plague Medal.

In March 1895 in consequence of certain Sanitary laws being enforced by the Government for the Registration of Common Lodging Houses, the whole of the worthing Cargo Coolies in the Colony went on strike. I was there specially told off to try and induce those men to comply with the law. I worked day & night for 3 months with the result that over 600 houses were Registered during that period.

Presented before the Police Magistrate, for my Services I was awarded a First-class Gold Medal, and a letter of thanks from H.E. The Governor - a letter attached, which I trust may be returned.

I can fairly claim that my services under the Hong Kong Government surpassed that of my hunt in the Police Force, and in view of those services extending over 10 years it is hard to be rejected.
